A little back story...

My name is Christine Dometita and I used to be obsessed with sales. If a shirt was $5 or a pair of jeans was under $20 just know I was sold. Like many students, I was on a tight budget, and fast fashion seemed like the easiest way to stay trendy without going broke. That changed the day I watched a documentary that said it takes 2,700 litres of water—enough for one person to drink for 2.5 years—to make a single cotton t-shirt. Suddenly, my closet felt a little heavier.

That one stat opened my eyes to an entire world of information I had been ignoring, and it made me realize: the true cost of fast fashion isn't what’s on the price tag. It's what happens behind the scenes—pollution, unethical labour, and massive textile waste.

“20% of global wastewater is produced by the fashion industry, making it one of the largest water polluters in the world.”
